Çeşme bays guide

The Çeşme peninsula is home to dozens of bays that are hard to reach by land or crowded in summer. By boat you can approach them from the sea at quieter times. Here are the places we visit most often on our private tours.

  1. Aya Yorgi Bay

Close to Çeşme town, known for clear water and golden sand. Lively with beach clubs by day; approaching from the sea shows off its turquoise colour best. Good for snorkelling too.

  2. Pırlanta Beach

Fine sand and a wide shoreline. A windsurfers' favourite on breezy days, and a lovely place to anchor and swim when it's calm.

  3. Altınkum

Named after its golden sand. Quieter than the town beaches, with clear water and shallow stretches — a pleasant swim stop for families.

  4. Fedon Bay

A small bay near Altınkum with clear water for swimming and snorkelling.

  5. Tekke Beach

Clean sea and fine sand. A frequent stop for a calm break on the southern coast.

  6. Delikli Koy

On the Alaçatı side, famous for its rock formations. You can see fish in its clear turquoise water — one of Çeşme's favourite snorkelling spots.

  7. Cleopatra Bay (Ovacık)

In the south of the peninsula, a shallow turquoise bay over white sand. Ideal for snorkelling.

  8. Çiftlikköy

At the western tip of the peninsula, known for fine sand and deep blue water.

  9. Kocakarı Beach

On the western tip, away from the crowds; fine sand and clear water for a quiet stop.

  10. Boyalık Bay

Next to Ilıca, a wide sandy bay known for deep blue water and water sports.

  11. Ilıca

A long beach where thermal springs meet the sea, famous for shallow, warm water. One of the easiest swim spots for families.

  12. Şifne

Beyond Ilıca, a shore known for calm, warm water and thermal springs.

Why does the captain choose the route?

Çeşme and Alaçatı are known for steady summer winds, which is why the area is one of Türkiye's best-known spots for windsurfing and sailing. On the same day one coast can be choppy while another is flat calm. Your captain checks the forecast in the morning and suggests the calmest, most enjoyable bays, so your day is both safe and comfortable.

Bay descriptions are for general information; the exact route is set by the captain on the day according to weather conditions.
